Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh and his own mentor Gary Barlow were all bowled over by Frankie's performance, which had most of the audience on its feet.

Cocozza was the first of Gary's boys to sing on tonight's show and the fourth contestant overall and his decision to sing The A Team appeared to go down well with the judges.

Tulisa called the performance 'amazing', while Kelly praised the teenager for 'exuding artistry' - a comment that seemed to leave Frankie a little puzzled.

Meanwhile, Gary admitted that he had been concerned about the strength of 17-year-old Frankie's voice in the past, but he questioned: 'What on earth was I worried about?' following the impressive performance.

Earlier this week, Frankie spoke of his desire to duet with Ed Sheeran and Snoop Dogg when asked who in the music industry he would most like to work with.
